Bithynia Abarca sees children as young as four, adolescents, adults and families.  Bithynia comes from a bilingual/bicultural background, and has a special interest in multi-cultural and diversity issues.

Prior to coming to YFC, Bithynia worked as a pre-school teacher at the Vernon Hills YMCA, and has been a Youth Pastor for over six years.  These experiences solidified her desire to work with children and adolescents in her counseling career.

Besides delivering counseling sessions, Bithynia works extensively with  Bridges, YFC’s program for 6-14 year old children who are experiencing grief or loss. She also assists with an emotional skills program that YFC delivers at Youth Conservation Corp (YCC) in Waukegan.
