Jovanka serves as Assistant Clinical Director at Youth & Family Counseling, where she provides clinical leadership, supervision, and programmatic support to ensure high-quality, ethical, and accessible mental health services. She joined YFC in May 2023 and brings extensive experience in counseling with 7 years in the field, clinical supervision, and workforce development within community mental health settings. In her role, Jovanka supports therapists in delivering evidence-based, culturally responsive care while fostering professional growth and clinical confidence across the agency. Jovanka holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and is committed to creating trauma-informed systems that prioritize both client well-being and clinician sustainability. Her clinical approach is integrative and individualized, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and person-centered interventions. She also incorporates art and expressive therapies, play therapy techniques, and strengths-based strategies to support clients across developmental stages. Jovanka is passionate about supervision as a tool for empowerment and believes strong clinical support structures are essential to effective client outcomes. Outside of work, she enjoys continued professional learning, creative outlets, and spending time with family.
