Grisel Gerena, LCPC

Grisel Gerena is the Assistant Clinical Director at YFC and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. She provides clinical leadership, supervision, and therapist training while also maintaining an active therapy practice. Grisel is deeply committed to trauma-informed care and supporting both clients and clinicians in navigating complex emotional and relational needs.

She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Grisel integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered therapy, with a strong emphasis on trauma-responsive treatment. Her leadership style is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on clinical excellence, ethical care, and sustainable practice.

Outside of her professional roles, Grisel values time with her family and enjoys comedy and humor as meaningful ways to recharge and stay connected.
